Start creating a life you love — instead of one you're just surviving
If you're a parent of a neurodivergent teen, and you're hitting the "I can't do this!" wall
— you're not alone.
Raising extraordinary kids is a journey like no other. The standard parenting advice doesn't work. Your kid has unique needs and behaviours and you're living with them day in and day out. So, it now becomes your job to figure it out - without a roadmap. You've spent years wading through it, the meltdowns, the shutdowns, all the appointments, the therapy, dealing with schools who don't always understand, and maybe even homeschooling.
It feels constant and relentless — because it often is. For years.
And then the teenage years hit — and the behaviours intensify... and you're feeling like you're starting all over again.
But now — you're exhausted. And there's no end in sight.
If you're looking for real answers, not some new set of ideals that you'll never live up to — you're in the right place. The last thing you need is someone telling you you're doing it wrong. You're already doing all you know how to do.
What you need is a different approach
Imagine if you could:
This is NOT about becoming a perfect parent. It's about changing your parenting approach.
Why This Matters
You've spent years putting your kids needs first - because you love them and that's your default.
You've become the organiser, the reminder, the problem-solver, the emotional support.
And for a long time, that may have been exactly what your child needed.
But as your child moves through the teenage years and towards adulthood, what they need from you begins to change.
Your child still has very real support needs.
But so do you.
Many parents of neurodivergent teens feel like they're failing because their kids are still struggling - and behaviours are intensifying. But what if there was another way to do this -
A different parenting approach.
The latest research tells us something important - one of the most powerful ways to improve a child's outcomes is to support the emotional wellbeing and capacity of the parents.
With a different approach -
REAL outcomes for teens are:
More motivation and willingness to learn new skills
Improved mental health and self-esteem
More consistent school attendance and academic progress
More interest in social engagement and ability to build healthy friendships
Confidence to stand up for themselves and communicate their needs
More motivation and willingness to build independent living skills
When parents are supported with real strategies to improve their own emotional capacity, energy and confidence:
Family relationships improve
Emotional reactivity decreases
Family conflict reduces
Teens develop greater independence and resilience
Parents experience significantly lower levels of burnout and overwhelm
Because when a mother’s emotional capacity changes — the entire family dynamic changes too.
A radical new approach to parenting neurodivergent teens - where your personal growth sets your kids up for success.
The Self-Care Revolution™ is based on the Take Care of YOU FIRST™ method - teaching parents the 3 essential skills you need to set your kids up for success - without burning you out.
These 3 essential life skills - that most parents were never taught - are foundational to helping neurodiverse kids move through the teens years to becoming independent and resilient young adults.
The Take Care of YOU FIRST™ method teaches you the steps to learning, mastering and modelling these 3 skills:
✔ Setting healthy boundaries
✔ Creating self-care routines
✔ Building better beliefs
Parenting is a marathon - not a sprint. And especially for parents of neurodivergent kids - these 3 life skills are a non-negotiable. Just like training for a marathon - parents need support and strategic skill-building to go the distance - and set their kids up for success.
The Take Care of YOU FIRST™ Method helps you learn, and integrate the core life skills YOU need to rebuild your energy, restore your sanity, and discover unshakeable confidence to show up as the parent you really want to be - and that your kids need you to be.
Know what’s yours to carry — and what isn’t.
When you've spent years supporting a child who genuinely needs more help, it's easy to become responsible for almost everything.
Healthy boundaries help you get clear on what’s yours to carry and what isn’t, so you can stop constantly rescuing, reminding and fixing without feeling like you’re abandoning your child.
You become more confident about when to step in, when to step back and how to communicate what you need — creating healthier relationships and more space for your child to grow.
When you learn this skill, you can:
- Stop feeling responsible for fixing everything.
- Set boundaries with less guilt and more confidence.
- Know when your child needs your support — and when they need the opportunity to work something out.
- Reduce resentment, over-functioning and emotional exhaustion.
- Create more space for your child to build responsibility, confidence and independence.
- Stay loving and connected without carrying it all.
Stop overthinking — and get clear on when to step in and when to step back - giving you and your kids space to grow.
Stop running on empty — and rebuild the capacity you need to parent well.
When you’re exhausted and overwhelmed, everything becomes harder.
Staying calm. Thinking clearly. Holding boundaries. Having difficult conversations. Recovering when things go wrong.
That's why self-care isn't separate from parenting — it's foundational.
The Take Care of YOU FIRST™ process helps you move from Self-Care Starter to Self-Care Extraordinaire — building simple, sustainable self-care routines to protect and restore your phsyical, mental, and emotional energy.
When you learn this skill, you can:
- Stop putting your needs at the bottom of the list.
- Recognise what you need before you reach breaking point.
- Rebuild your energy and emotional reserves.
- Stay calmer and clearer when challenges arise.
- Have greater capacity to hold boundaries and communicate well.
- Recover quickly from setbacks instead of being completely derailed by them.
- Have more energy for your relationships, your family and your own life.
- Show your kids what taking responsibility for your own wellbeing actually looks like.
Parenting neurodivergent kids is a marathon - not a sprint. Self-care is the skillset you need to go the distance.
Change what’s happening underneath your communication.
When you’re worried about your child and their future, fear can quietly drive your decisions, reactions and communication — even when your intention is love.
The beliefs underneath thoughts like “What if they don’t cope?”, “If I don’t help, it won’t happen” or “I’m not doing enough” can keep you stuck in worry, overthinking, second-guessing and reactive communication.
Learning to recognise and upgrade those beliefs changes the way you see yourself, your child and what’s possible.
When you learn this skill, you can:
- Recognise when fear is driving your parenting.
- Stop second-guessing every decision you make.
- Respond more calmly instead of reacting in the heat of the moment.
- Communicate with greater clarity and confidence.
- See your child’s strengths and capabilities alongside their very real challenges.
- Shift from “What if they can’t?” towards “How can I support them to discover what they can do?”
- Build greater trust in yourself and in your child’s capacity to grow.
Move from fear-driven reactions to calm confident communication
Once you develop these missing skills you move from:
parenting through fear, guilt, urgency and exhaustion
parenting with clarity, confidence, connection and calm leadership.

Why This Program Is Different
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to parenting neurodivergent teens and the standard parenting advice just doesn’t work. This is because most parenting advice assumes a parent has consistent emotional capacity to introduce a completely different strategy to a chaotic home environment. And so the parenting advice just makes them feel like they’re failing, right from the start - because they’re trying to communicate differently and show up consistently without learning the 3 core life skills that give their communication real impact.
Most parent coaching gives you no clear roadmap about what the missing skillsets are behind your teens behaviour, and what to address FIRST when dealing with challenging behaviours. The Take Care of YOU FIRST method gives you structure and step-by-step skill building roadmap to restore and sustain your emotional energy FIRST, learn the skills both you AND your teen needs, and communicate with confidence and impact through strategic conversations - to set your teens up for success. You learn the skills FIRST - and then how to teach it to your teens. This changes everything.
Instead of going it alone and wading relentlessly through the waves of overwhelm, The Self-Care Revolution gives you an easy-to-follow skill-building structure and personalised step-by-step support to learn the essential skills you need to parent your teens well - without burning you out.
The Take Care of YOU FIRST method has been tried and tested using a unique combination of evidence based strategies for over a decade with women and neurodivergent teens - all with significant changes to family dynamics, mental health and emotional capacity levels.
Weekly coaching sessions address your real everyday life parenting challenges with transformational teaching and steps to overcome setbacks and get your teen back on track. There’s also online community access 5 days a week so you can have your particular challenges addressed in the next coaching session. No more struggling on alone.
This program offers a female-focused and neurodivergent-friendly alternative to standard parent coaching. Women and neurodivergent humans have unique learning needs - because our brains are wired differently. If a goal feels like an extra demand for our already busy brains, we will instinctively push it away.
The Take Care of YOU FIRST method uses a uniquely designed multi-sensory approach to learning, creating neural pathway changes to build self-care routines and rhythms more instinctively and easily. So you’re not fighting with mental resistance every step along the way.
You are supported to learn new language and strategies to process your body clues, your thought patterns, and your connection needs - in a safe and supported way. The Take Care of YOU FIRST method is designed to put you back in the driver's seat of your life and parenting, with graded levels of learning and support according to your pacing needs.
Every group coaching session in the program offers you a weekly experience of feeling refreshed, energised and clear on what you need to do next. So you have motivation and capacity to start making changes to your parenting approach. We focus on restoring and recharging YOU FIRST before applying new parenting strategies.
The Take Care of YOU FIRST method teaches you what issues to focus on first, in what order, what to let go of and how to communicate with impact - in your parenting approach. You will learn how to consider and take care of your own mind, body and soul needs - while addressing the key priority needs for your teen.
Intentionally created for easily overloaded women, the program is designed to create shifts in your energy and emotional capacity with just 5 minutes of focus a day. You’ll be supported to start small with habit changes, gently pace your progress and focus on what matters most first. With guided coach support to identify your No. 1. energy drainer FIRST, you’ll find yourself shifting mental blocks quickly, and seeing changes in your energy and parenting impact quickly with small steps, strategic conversations, new mindsets and more emotional capacity.
Parenting neurodivergent teens often feels like doggy paddling through an ocean of fierce and constantly changing emotions. Instead of getting pulled under by wave after wave of chaos and intense demands - The Take Care of YOU FIRST method teaches you how to create safe spaces in your home, restore your emotional energy, identify and address the biggest skill gaps in your teens, then learn and model the skills your teen needs most - saving you years of parenting without a roadmap.
Instead of running on empty and trying to fill in all the gaps, you are supported to identify your number 1 self-care priority area FIRST and take small strategic steps forward. By clearing mindset blocks, and taking small steps every day you will learn to create self-care routines that are life-sustaining and long-lasting, not heavy and hard. So you can show up as the parent you want to be, and your teen needs you to be. This will save you years of struggling to use strategies that don't work or meet your needs or those of your teen most effectively.

The Self-Care Journey
This is personal
My personal journey through mental health, physical health, and parenting challenges deeply informs my coaching work with women. Raising two neurodiverse children as a single parent, building two businesses from scratch, and writing and publishing a book in the midst of all that — I understand the very real need to have emotional capacity to keep all the balls in the air. And still show up for your kids, as they navigate their own challenges in life. I remember how it felt when finding 5 minutes for me felt impossible, but absolutely necessary. I've learned through my own trial and error, the most powerful energy boosting strategies and because I know how much we all need them, I created the Take Care of YOU FIRST™ Method to share these nuggets of life-changing wisdom with other women.
If I can do this, so can you
At the age of 22, three years into studying my Occupational Therapy degree, life as I knew it came to a grinding halt. A virus I didn’t recover from turned into a diagnosis of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. In spite of following a strict naturopathic diet, taking a truckload of supplements and "doing half of what you think you can do" - the apparent wisdom of the day - I became virtually bedridden for months. I remember getting to the shower once a week and sitting on the floor to wash myself, having no energy for standing. Wondering if I'd ever walk further than the bathroom again.
After months of no improvement, I was admitted to a psych ward for 5 weeks, got a few more labels, and started a long slow journey of recovery. Here's where I started making connections between mental, physical and emotional health in a way that no-one can teach you at Uni. I searched deeply for answers — seeing a wide range of mental and physical health practitioners over the next 20 years. This journey - of trial and error - making progress and having setbacks, over and over - has given me incredible insight and passion for supporting other women who are not satisfied to let their labels and life circumstances stop them from creating a life they love.
I know what works and what doesn’t in helping women create real change in their health, parenting, and relationships — from personal and professional experience. I’ve now had the privilege of coaching women and neurodiverse humans for the last 10 years through my group and 1:1 coaching programs. It makes all the years of struggle and pain so worth it - when I get to help other women find a pathway through their pain and create a life they love living - instead of one they’re just surviving. If I can do it, so can you.
Self-Care is not instinctive - it needs to be taught
If you're feeling fuzzy on what self-care even is - you are not alone. It's taken me 20 years, a lot of pain, struggle, and relationship challenges, trying out a lot of different therapeutic approaches to discover that self-care is actually a thing - that’s absolutely foundational to our health, relationships and quality of life. And yet no-one really teaches you how to do it. Unless you’ve seen it modelled growing up - many of us had mums who put other people’s needs first (which is actually not sustainable or loving - just exhausting), we need some help to figure this out.
What I teach in my Take Care of YOU FIRST™ Method is a process I’ve learned through years of getting it wrong, and hitting against mental and physical health challenges over and over again. But little by little I’ve discovered what does work - how to live, love and lead from a place of fullness, not emptiness. It is possible - once you know the steps, and you understand the mindset shifts. Self-care does not need to be complicated or expensive. But it does require focus and intention and a desire to change. The strategies that work the best cost nothing - but change everything, once you discover them.
